Femme Osage Church in Autumn

Femme Osage Church, founded in 1833, as the first German Evangelical Church west of the Mississippi River.ย  The church pictured, erected in 1888 is the third structure to house this congregation.ย  The foundation of the current church was constructed using the stones from the previous church.ย  It is situated on the Cappeln-Osage Road in the beautiful Femme Osage Valley, north of Augusta, Missouri.

Femme Osage Church is a member of the United Church of Christ and is affiliated with the Evangelical Association of Reformed and Congregational Christian Churches.

From Augusta: Take Highway 94 west to County Road T. Turn right onto Country Road T and follow it until you enter the Femme Osage Creek valley. Turn right onto Cappeln-Osage Road to enter the Village of Femme Osage.


From New Melle or Defiance: From New Melle go east on Country Road F. From Defiance go west on County Road F. Turn south onto Femme Osage Creek Road. Follow it to the intersection of Cappeln-Osage Road. Turn left (south) onto Cappeln-Osage Road and follow it into the Village of Femme Osage.


From Marthasville: ย Take County Road D east out of Marthasville until it ends at County Road T.ย  Turn right onto County Road T and follow it approximately 1.25 miles. You will enter the Femme Osage Creek valley and see the village of Femme Osage on your left. Turn on Cappeln-Osage Road to enter the Village of Femme Osage.




From Washington:ย  Take Highway 47 north to Dutzow. Turn right onto County Road TT north and follow it through Dutzow until it reaches County Road T. Turn right onto County Road T and go approximately 1 mile. You will enter the Femme Osage Creek valley and see the village of Femme Osage on your left. Turn on Cappeln-Osage Road to enter the Village of Femme Osage.
