Discipleship
Jesus commanded that as we live our lives, we are to "make disciples." We are to "baptize them" in the Name of the Trinity and "teach them to observe" all that Jesus commanded. [Matthew 28:19-20]ย To this end, Femme Osage Church is implementing the discipleship model given to us by the Early Church. "They were continually devoting themselves to the apostlesโ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.... Day by day continuing with one mind in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they were taking their meals together with gladness and sincerity of heart, praising God and having favor with all the people." [Acts 2:42, 47] At Femme Osage Church, we're implementing these elements in our Evening of Discipleship (Wednesday, as scheduled) and our Worship Services (Saturday and Sunday, as scheduled)
In the home
The Evening of Discipleship occurs as scheduled (roughly every other week) and the location rotates between attendees who host the session. See below for the upcoming sessions and call the Office at 636-228-4586 for directions to the host's home.
Fellowship meal
The evening begins with a Fellowship Meal (potluck) and casual conversation. It is a time to get to know each other better and to hear what God is doing in our lives. There's never a shortage of food and drink to make the evening a wonderful experience.
teaching in the word
Teaching in the Word covers many things: answering questions that have arisen from a person's daily Bible reading, exploring topics of interest that are relevant to the attendees, and systematically working through the Word and applying it to daily life.
Worship
The Evening of Discipleships doesn't end on Wednesday evening. The Scriptural insights are carried over into our Sunday morning Worship Service. As we grow in our knowledge and love of the Lord, our worship reflects this growing relationship.
